General remarks:
Data provided under domestic undertakings include the data of insurance undertakings established in Estonia as well as the data of their EU branches.
Data provided under branches and agencies of foreign undertakings cover the data of branches of EU/EEA undertakings operating in Estonia. There are no branches or agencies of non-EU/non-EEA undertakings operating in Estonia. Data of EU/EEA branches are provided if possible (some of the data from the branches is not collected by the FSA).
Since 1 January 2016 the supervisory reporting and valuation methodology has changed according to Solvency II requirements. Two former life insurance undertakings are considered as composite undertakings since 1 January 2016 although the major business is life business. Thus figures for 2016 are not comparable with previous years.

Definition of foreign-controlled undertakings:
At least 50% of the shares are directly or indirectly under foreign control.
