From 1994 to 2000, duration is measured as the duration of job search. From 2001, duration is the minimum between the duration of job search and the duration of joblessness. Duration of "Less than one month" refers to the duration of unemployment during the previous four weeks, including the survey reference week.

There was a change of calculation of duration of unemployment between 2000 and 2001. This resulted an increase of unemployed who are unemployed less than 1 month and a decrease of unemployed who are unemployed 1 year and over.
