In December 2009, ABS adopted the 2008 SNA ("System of National Accounts 2008", Commission of the European Communities - Eurostat, International Monetary Fund, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, United Nations and World Bank, 2009).

The financial intermediation services indirectly measured (FISIM) are allocated to industries and institutional sectors.

Chain indices are used for calculating volume changes and the resulting chained volume estimates are not additive.

Annual data published by Australia in its national publications are data for fiscal years ending 30 June whereas the annual data shown here are calculated by sum of the original quarterly data for the calendar year.
