From 1st January 2015, the Euro area covers 19 countries: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus (*), Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Slovenia and Spain.
From September 2014, these Euros Area national accounts estimates are compiled according to the 2008 SNA ('System of National Accounts 2008', Commission of the European Communities-Eurostat, International Monetary Fund, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, United Nations and World Bank, 2009).
From 1999 data are expressed in Euro, whereas data before 1999 are expressed in Ecu.
Eurostat obtains the annual aggregates at current prices and at previous year prices by summing up the respective Member States' figures, data at previous year prices are then chained, reference year 2015.
