CURRENT TRANSFERS – SNA

Statistics Directorate
French Equivalent: Transferts courants – SCN

Definition:
Current transfers consist of all transfers that are not transfers of capital; they directly affect the level of disposable income and should influence the consumption of goods or services.

On the contrary see: Capital transfers.

Context:
A current transfer reduces the income and consumption
possibilities of the first party and increases the income and
consumption possibilities of the second party. Current
transfers are therefore not linked to, or conditional on, the
acquisition or disposal of assets by one or both parties to
the transaction.
