Sampling Data are compiled from the results of the Monthly Business Tendency Survey of the Bank of Mexico addressed to about 1000 enterprises of more than 10 workers.
Sector coverage Data cover the manufacturing sector.
Key statistical concept The results of business tendency surveys reflect businessmen's judgement on the recent past, current situation and expectation during the following month for their own business.
Aggregation and consolidation For all series data are presented as the balance of positive ("improve", "up") over negative ("deteriorate", "down") replies expressed as a percentage of total replies.
Weights From 1992 onwards, the responses are weighted by the number of workers. The weighting system used to calculate aggregated data is based on the number of employees in each company. Before that date, the responses are weighted by the value of production.
