Key statistical concept
The indicator measures consumers' opinions by combining their replies to three questions: one question refers to the general economic situation and two refer to the financial situation of the household.

Aggregation and consolidation
Data for each question are expressed as the balance of positive over negative replies. The indicator is then calculated as an average of the answers to the three questions.
