The weights for each individual link are based on the previous year's private final consumption expenditure of Households and Non-profits institution serving Households expressed in purchasing power parity (PPP). Hence the aggregate indices are subject to revision as a result of revisions to the national accounts and the PPPs. From 1970 onwards the weights are calculated using National Accounts data based on the 1993 System of National Accounts (SNA 93). Prior to 1970 the weights are based on SNA 68. For currently used weights, please see: http://www.oecd.org/dataoecd/45/50/44119636.xls
