The Gender Institutions and Development Database (GID-DB) provides policy makers, researchers and the public in general with key data on gender-based discrimination in social institutions. Data help analyse women's empowerment and understand gender gaps in key areas of development.

Covering 179 countries and territories, the GID-DB contains comprehensive information on legal, cultural and traditional practices that discriminate against women and girls.
