STAN Indicators (iSTAN) are derived from the OECD's Structural Analysis (STAN) database. Indicators are compiled to respond to the needs of analysts and researchers interested in measuring economic performance and structural changes. Indicators in monetary terms are presented in US dollars converted by current or constant 2015 annual average exchange rates. Exchange rates are preferred to Purchasing Power Parities. It is not recommended to use PPPs for comparisons of output and productivity by industry – see OECD PPPs FAQ.
Additionally, STAN indicators complement the OECD key publications, Trade in Value Added (TiVA) indicators and Going Digital Indicators.
iSTAN indicators relate to:
• the structure of production and of employment,
• labour productivity and labour costs,
• investment and,
• capital stock.
They are presented for all individual OECD countries but not for zones (i.e. country groups), because of differences in economic activities and time coverage across countries. In iSTAN, the time-coverage and economic activities are the same as that covered in the underlying STAN database.
Users are encouraged to send their comments and questions to stan.contact@oecd.org mentioning "iSATNindicators" in the message's title.
The frequency of iSTAN updates is the same as for the STAN database.
Additional information can be downloaded from the OECD•STAT menu.
Go to "Export" and select "Related Files".
Exchange rates are provided along with the indicators. They are extracted from the OECD's System of National Accounts (SNA).
