The Uganda Gender, Institutions and Development Database (Uganda-GID) provides researchers and policymakers with key data at the national and subnational levels on gender-based discrimination in social institutions. This data helps analyse women’s empowerment and understand gender gaps in other key areas of development. Covering 5 regions and 10 sub-regions, the Uganda-GID contains comprehensive information on social norms, attitudes and both perceived and actual practices that discriminate against women and girls.
