RATE OF RETURN - OECD

Definition:
The income earned by holding an asset over a specified period.

Context:
The rate of return is the income generated by an asset expressed as a percentage of the value of that asset. The rate of return may be measured ex ante (the return expected when the investment was made) or ex post (the return that was actually earned).
