TOURISM-CONNECTED PRODUCTS

Statistics Directorate
Definition:
“Tourism-connected products” is a residual category, including those that have been identified as tourism-specific in a given country but for which this attribute has not been acknowledged on a worldwide basis.

Context:
The list of tourism characteristic products provided in Annex II of the Tourism Satellite Account: Recommended Methodological Framework is provisional and corresponds to products considered characteristic for purposes of the international comparability of results. Consequently, it is meant to serve as a proposal of how, in the future, the various international organizations could present, in a comparable way, the results of countries that have developed a TSA. The main groupings in the list comprise:

- accommodation services
- food and beverage serving services
- passenger transport services
- travel agency, tour operator and tourist guide services
- cultural services
- recreation and other entertainment services
- miscellaneous services.
